I am a post 62 retiree and was faced with the same issue. I was instructed by the Social Security Administration to produce proof that the pension from my SRP was not current income. I resolved the issue by obtaining a letter from the personnel dept( actually the tax affairs dept) that verifies that amount shown on your w-2 form is income earned in previous years. This did the trick for me. Try it.

As a pre-62 retiree, my "pension" check was drawn upon SRP funds. I started drawing Social Security when I turned 62. Just informed by SSA that I need to repay my benefits for last year, as SRP payments are "earned income"; and, exceeded the allowable EI for a year. If I had been getting the non-SRP pension, I would still be allowed my SSI checks.
Anyone else had this problem? How did you handle it?

I contacted BCBSMI on 6/15 about my 23 year son. He graduated college on 5/15. They told me there were no issues with his coverage. I then contacted Benefits Express for the correct process ( I had received a "Welfare Plan Dependent Eligibility Notice" for him) and they immediately cut off his coverage effective 6/1. They told me it didn't matter what BCBS said Chrysler's policy was to cut him off. They did say they would send me info on COBRA in the next 2 weeks. Mean time - NO coverage. Happy Father's Day.

I want to thank Randy Doran at Crestwood Dodge for his help in leasing a new Town and Country van. Randy was knowledgeable, informative, patient and courteous. He answered all my questions about the various programs available. He took me out and showed me around the dealership and introduced me to the Service Manager who printed out of list of required maintenance services so that I could understand what the service costs would be a Crestwood compared to the extra cost general maintenance program. I had talked to other Dealers on the NCRO list and decided it was worth my time and money to drive a little further from home to deal with Randy at Crestwood Dodge.

One of the provisions of the new Health Care Reform Act is it extends a parent's Corporate health care coverage to their children up to age 26. Michigan Blue Cross has stated it will adopt the provision early. However, Chrysler has made no statement on the provision and is operating on a business as usual basis - still dropping children under 26 when they exit student status. How can I get an official position as to how Chrysler plans to comply with this new law? Where do I get Cobra subsidy info if I have to use that as a solution for my student who wants to work.

I am retiree of who has filed a claim against Old Carco. I received this week in the mail a Claim Objection. This objection will reclassify my claim to a "general unsecured nonpriority claim". Has any one else received a similiar objection? What is the NCRO attorneys recommendation?

I want to report my outstanding experience with leasing a new Ram from Cueter Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep
Brent and his sales staff looked at several different rebate programs until they found one that saved me the most money. If any of our NARCO members are looking to lease I strongly recommend checking with Cueter before making a deal for a new vehicle.
See Bill Paris he is really a good person to do business with if you are looking to buy or lease.

I just purchased both of my former lease cars from Suburban CJD in Novi. Every phase of the procedure went very smooth. Their sales consultant assigned to Chrysler retirees, Tony Cipicchio, is a real pro. I highly recommended both Suburban and Tony.

Matt & Paul:

I want to thank both of you for expending the time and effort to make the transition of my wife and I from the Chrysler salaried retiree lease program to the real world of leasing and purchasing new vehicles at a dealership a pleasant experience rather than the dreaded traumatic one. I especially want to thank you for coming up with a solution after Chrysler failed to provide a power train warranty for the planned purchase of my wife's lease vehicle. I also appreciate your efforts regarding my retiree friends whom I referred to you.

John G.
